Sponsorship Opportunities

The South Florida Tennis Club would like to let you know about an opportunity that may interest you and your company. We are hosting the 30th annual Clay Court Classic charity tennis tournament on February 15-18, 2019 at the Lauderdale Tennis Club and we invite you to participate as a sponsor of this event, the premier LGBTQ tennis competition in South Florida.

Last year, the Clay Court Classic Tournament attracted 200 gay and lesbian players from around the world and raised over $6,000 for our charities. With this being the 30-year anniversary of the tournament in 2019, we expect to grow to 250-300 participants, easily making it one of the largest LGBTQ tennis tournaments in the world. With your support, and the continuing support of our past sponsors, we feel confident we can improve last year’s donations.

The charity chosen for 2018 was SunServe, South Florida’s social services provider for the LGBTQ community. SunServe is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit social services agency serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) community in South Florida. They provide high quality, culturally relevant care for all with an emphasis on those in financial need, minorities, youth, seniors, HIV+ persons, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional conditions. They also offer a myriad of education and training services. More information about Sunserve is available at www.sunserve.org.

A Fact Sheet about the Tournament, and a description of the various sponsorship opportunities and benefits are outlined below. In addition to the specific benefits associated with individual sponsorship levels, sponsors will enjoy increased name recognition and goodwill in the local community.

We look forward to your support in making the 2019 Clay Court Classic a smashing success. Thank you for your consideration.

About the 2019 Clay Court Classic

The Clay Court Classic is run by the South Florida Tennis Club and it is one of the most popular tournaments on the Gay and Lesbian Tennis Association (GLTA) World Tour. Held annually over President’s Day weekend, the tournament provides competition for all skill levels. Over 250 players are expected to compete for the championships in Fort Lauderdale from February 15-18, 2019. In addition to the highly-competitive tennis, there are events that bring the tournament participants together off the courts. A welcome party will be held on Thursday, February 14th, and the dinner banquet will be held on Sunday, February 18th.

The Lauderdale Tennis Club will play host to the majority of the matches for the tournament with a second local venue hosting the rest of the matches. We are anticipating over 400 matches to be played over the four-day tournament, easily the most in our 30-year history. Trophies will be awarded to the champions and runner-up’s in 18 different events, including singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
